The term “on-demand” refers to your ability to access a past program online at your convenience. You do not have to wait for the entire program to download as it will start playing (streaming) as soon as it begins loading.
To access on-demand programs you must have an active internet connection and use a Windows-based or Apple-based personal computer or a mobile device that supports HTML5.
You will be given unlimited access to each program for an indefinite period of time.
Please note that programs that took place in 2013 or prior were removed from the old website as of June 19, 2016 and are no longer available.
Contact us at cpdreg@lso.ca for access to CPD programs and resources for programs that took place between 2014 and 2016. This applies to all purchases not downloaded before the e-commerce site shutdown on February 28, 2018, as per the January 2018 notice posted on the old site.
Please visit the Canada Post website for details on available shipping service levels provided by Canada Post.
Completing our "green" approach subsequent to our transition of registrants' materials to paperless a few years ago, as of January 1, 2023, CPD will be fully paperless for all programs. This means that materials for select programs which are made available to you for purchase (without purchasing the program) are available for purchase in PDF format only. This switch from paper to PDF supports the LSO’s initiatives for sustainability and CPD's "green" approach.
The Law Society of Ontario makes reasonable accommodations to enable persons with disabilities to attend and participate in its programs, including providing auxiliary aids and services upon request and removing architectural and communication barriers that are structural in nature where readily achievable.
To request auxiliary aids or services or if you have any questions regarding accessibility, please contact cpdreg@lso.ca. In order for the Law Society to be able to make the necessary arrangements for accommodation, we require that you provide your request for accommodation and your payment for the program at least fifteen (15) business days prior to the program date.
Please see Communication Accomodations for additional information and forms.
Major credit card companies, such as VISA, have changed their security rules for collecting credit card information. As of October 14, 2018, they require any commercial enterprise processing credit cards to collect security numbers.
If you use the LSO's eCommerce system yourself to register for programs, you will enter the security number when prompted. If you register by email or faxed registration form sent to CPD, there is an extra step. We must call you on a secure phone line to obtain your credit card information, including your security code. This change has been implemented to provide additional security to help protect your card from fraudulent use.

The security code, also known as CVV (Card Verification Value), CVC (Card Verification Code) or CSC (Card Security Code), is a 3 or 4 digit number. It is located on the back (VISA, MasterCard) or the front (Amex) of your credit card. It is meant to help establish the identity of the credit card holder and minimize risks of fraud.
