Bullying can involve unwanted or unwelcome comments or behaviours, whether part of a continuing pattern or isolated incidents. For anyone experiencing this behaviour in the legal workplace—whether verbal or non-verbal, in-person or via electronic communications or social media—the effects can be devastating. This impact extends to health, mental well-being, job performance, and a firm's ability to retain talented lawyers, paralegals, and staff. We are pleased to welcome back Bill Eddy, attorney, therapist, mediator, and Chief Innovation Officer at the High Conflict Institute, to address patterns of bullying behaviour and present six strategies to empower you to stop bullying, both individually and with the help of others.
- Understand how to recognize bullying behavior
- Hear how to set limits and impose consequences on a bully
- Identify strategies on how to respond to hostile communications in writing
- Be aware of how others can help
- Find out how to communicate effectively about bullies with others
