1. Not Enough Time to Take Notes?
I certainly felt that way when I first started practicing until I began leveraging technology to my advantage, so everything that I did and said was documented in a way that didn’t create any further time for me.
Firstly, I don’t take handwritten notes. Instead, I’m on a laptop verbatim notetaking on calls – it’s faster and the notes are done at the end of the call so I don’t have to take the extra time to create notes when I may have other, more pressing tasks. The Law Society of Ontario’s Trustee Services department assists with client property when a licensee stops practicing, whether permanently or temporarily. Our mandate is to preserve and distribute client property and, where necessary, wind up a practice. Trustee Services may consult with a licensee or their authorized representative, act as custodian of property on a licensee’s behalf, or seek appointment as trustee under the Law Society Act.
