Description

The Construction Act is undergoing its most significant reform since 1983. What do we know so far? Some changes took effect in December 2017 and July 2018, and lawyers and their clients have had time to digest and adapt. Our presenters explain the lessons learned from that process, including transitional provisions. Next, they go over prompt payment and interim adjudication regimes, which take effect October 1, 2019. They make sure you understand how clients and lawyers can best prepare themselves for both the certainties (and uncertainties) of changes that will affect not only disputes, but also the financing and regular administration of construction projects.

  • Get insight into the transitional provisions
  • Learn about changes to holdbacks, lien preservation, and perfection periods
  • Understand changes affecting condominiums and landlords
